Stoneware lidded box designed by Birgit Andersson for L. Hjorth, Bornholm, Denmark, c. 1960s. Low, circular form with a rich iron-brown glaze accented by subtle banding at the seam and a softly recessed lid. Interior finished in a contrasting muted glaze with concentric detailing.
Impressed and signed to the underside, consistent with L. Hjorth production. A refined example of Danish studio ceramics—quiet, tactile, and highly functional as a small storage vessel or tabletop object.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. No major chips or cracks observed.
Dimensions:
5.5" D x 2.5" H
